Oseai Kweku
Osei Kweku was born in Kitchener, Ontario and spent his early years in Ghana, West Africa, where he was shaped by his father’s deep commitment to service. Disheartened by the quality of healthcare in Ghana, his father founded a hospital that has served the community for more than three decades, often making accommodations for those unable to pay. Balancing a medical practice in Cleveland while frequently traveling to Ghana, his father’s dedication taught Osei that when you operate with purpose, anything is possible. At Hampton University, Osei walked on to the football team but found his true calling as a leader among his peers, discovering his passion for broadcasting and storytelling that would shape his career.
Osei went on to build a decorated career in media, hosting his own show in Washington, DC, and later becoming the signature baritone voice of BET, reaching more than 64 million listeners worldwide. He has since become recognized as a global-minded businessman and community leader, leveraging relationships with athletes and entertainers to inspire giving back. His nonprofit, America to Africa, began in 2007 by sending its first group of students from Kip Way’s Academy in Atlanta to Ghana, encouraging cultural exchange and connection to heritage. What began as A to the A has now evolved into ACES, a partnership led with Dr. Adebayo Akintobi and Dr. Xavier Bryant, advancing health screenings, cultural engagement, and sustainable community impact.
